Pole dancing for Jesus

Credit to whom credit is due, I found this one on another blog, the one by Scott Bailey, called Scotteriology. You can find it here: http://scotteriology.wordpress.com. It is akin to this blog but has a slightly different accent. It is well worth checking out and I am always impressed with the fact that he manages to keep coming up with stuff.

Saint Anthony frames

A Catholic superstar today, Saint Anthony of Padua, a thirteen century saint who really should have been patron saint of frames on walls. Good thing the Catholics put aureoles on saints, making them look like astronauts!

Kickass, they even have action figures!

So, I got curious and wondered why there is a lily in almost each of these depictions. A website devoted to this saint soon answered my query: "The lily represents St. Anthony's purity and his battle against the demon since childhood." (http://www.st-anthony-medal.com/symbols-of-saint-anthony.htm)
